Bus transfers are replacing multiple services.

Taking the train this weekend? There are major changes on some of the country's busiest routes

Works by Irish Rail will impact all Heuston routes and the line from Dun Laoghaire to Greystones.

WORKS BEING CARRIED out by Irish Rail will impact all Heuston routes and the line from Dun Laoghaire to Greystones this weekend.

The work on the Heuston to Newbridge line will impact the following services on Saturday and Sunday:

  • Services between Dublin and Cork, and between Dublin and Limerick will include bus transfers between Dublin Heuston and Portarlington in both directions, and operate to a revised schedule
  • Dublin to Tralee direct services will operate between Mallow and Tralee only, with connections to and from Cork services, to a revised schedule
  • Dublin to Galway and Dublin to Westport/Ballina will be replaced by bus transfers between Heuston and Kildare in both directions
  • Dublin to Waterford services will be replaced by bus transfers between Heuston and Athy
  • Services between Limerick and Ballybrophy (via Nenagh) will operate to a revised schedule.

Additionally all Heuston to Kildare/Portlaoise commuter services are cancelled and a limited bus transfer service will operate between Heuston and Hazelhatch, Sallins, Newbridge, Kildare, Monasterevin, Portarlington and Portlaoise.

The works on the Dun Laoghaire to Greystones line will include bridge replacement and coastal defence works.

These works to the line were previously scheduled to take place earlier in the autumn but delayed due to Storm Amy.

All DART services are cancelled in both directions between the two stations; Dublin Bus and Go Ahead will accept rail tickets for cancelled services.

Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort services will involve bus transfers between Connolly and Greystones and will go on a revised schedule.

There will also be track works between Longford and Dromod on the Sligo line on Saturday evening and they will impact the 7.32pm and 7.05pm services between Connolly and Sligo and Sligo to Connolly respectively.

Bus services will be in place.

Irish Rail has apologised for inconvenience caused.
